With delicious cream teas, mouth-watering cakes and an idyllic setting it promises to be another thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. If you have not received the calling notice and nomination papers for the AGM please contact Gill. Saturday 13th September, 8.00pm: Amnesty Fringe Meeting, supported by WLD, in the Westcliff Brasserie, Marquee Two. The subject is 'Trapped in Violence and Abuse - Is the UK Government failing to tackle violence against women?' It will focus on the most vulnerable women in our society who are currently being failed by the system. Chris Huhne MP has agreed to speak, and other invited speakers include Liz McKean, Amnesty International UK, Jo Swinson MP and Baroness Jenny Tonge. Monday 15th September, 6.15pm: WLD Fringe Meeting 'Are We Nearly There Yet?' We will be looking at the progress we have made since we were formed 20 years ago, and will focus particularly on ways to get more women onto the Party committees. Do come along if you are interested - practical help and advice will be available.
